EN Phonèmes is a duo of hybrid sound objects, somewhere between furniture and musical instruments. They are inspired by ancestral idiophone percussion instruments such as the slit drums of Oceania and Africa, and the “temple blocks” of Asia, used for long-distance communication or to accompany dance and ritual chants. Phonèmes is a tribute to the symbolic power of these zoomorphic instruments, language tools with both a social and spiritual role.
FR Phonèmes est un duo d'objets sonores hybrides, entre meubles et instruments de musique. Ils sont inspirés de percussions idiophones ancestrales tels que les tambours à fente d'Océanie et d'Afrique et les "temple blocks" d'Asie, utilisés pour la communication longue distance ou pour accompagner la danse et les chants rituels. Les Phonèmes sont un hommage à la force symbolique de ces instruments zoomorphes, outils de langage ayant un rôle à la fois social et spirituel.
